A Crossett High School school senior signed a basketball scholarship with South Arkansas Community College last week.

Charity Watkins played small forward for the CHS Lady Eagle basketball team and on Friday morning she accepted an offer from Coach John Wolfe before signing her letter of intent.

“I’ve seen Charity play, and I expect big things,” Wolfe said. “I don’t expect her to come and sit on the bench, I expect her to come out and play.”

CHS Coach Shanae Govan said she believed all along that Watkins had what it takes to play at the next level and is proud to see her go on to do it.

“This is a big opportunity for her, and not everyone gets this opportunity, but I know she will do her best and as long as she works hard and puts God first she will do big things,” Govan said.

Watkins is the daughter of Canon Watkins and Nicole Williams of Crossett and a four year letterman for the Crossett Lady Eagles.
