The Junior Eagles are now 3-0 after a win against Star City last week.

Neither team scored in the first half, but Denzel Watkins ran a touchdown into the end zone during the third quarter. The PAT was no good but the Eagles were still leading 6-0.

With eight minutes left in the fourth quarter, Tyrique Jones started a drive that would end in the second and final Eagle touchdown.

Jones ran the first play of the drive 19 yards to midfield. The Star City Bulldogs held the Eagles to third and short, but Jones ran the ball past the first down mark again and then passed to Camron Williams for another first down. Watkins ran the ball eight more yards to bring the Eagles to first and goal, and Jones ran the ball into the end zone with a quarter back keeper.

The PAT was no good, but the Eagles kept Star City out of the end zone until the clock ran out. The final score was 12-0.

The junior Eagles will travel to Warren to face the Lumberjacks on Thursday. The seventh grade will play at 5:30 p.m. and the eighth and ninth grade will follow.
