The Crossett Lady Eagles ended their softball season on Saturday, May 7, during the opening round of the 4A South Region Softball Tournament.
The game, which they played in Malvern, concluded with a 10-0 score tilting in favor of the Nashville Scrapperettes.
Nashville earned their runs across 13 hits, and the Scrapperette pitcher threw a no-hitter and a perfect game.
The Lady Eagles’ final game of the regular season was May 2. Crossett hosted versus Harmony Grove’s Lady Hornets, and that game went decisively in Crossett’s favor, 16-1. The Harmony Grove game was non-league play.
The final league game of the season was against Star City on April 29, which the Lady Eagles also clenched 5-2 as the visiting team in Star City.
The Lady Eagles ended the season with a 13-11 record.
The Hamburg Lady Lions’ softball season ended during a playoff run as well on Monday, May 9. Their final game was against Malvern, ending 9-6 in Malvern’s favor.
Prior to that, Hamburg had also lost a Monday game to Bauxite’s miners, who took the match 12-2.
The Lady Lions had opened the playoff run with a win against Mena, outbatting that team 6-5 on a Saturday, May 7 game.
Their last games of the regular season were a 4-0 non-league loss to the Smacker Buckaroos on May 2 and a 16-14 league loss to Camden Fairview’s Cardinals on April 29
Hamburg softball ended the regular season with a 12-6 record.
