Lions face Lumberjacks on basketball court

The Hamburg Lady Lions lost 63-36 when they took on Warren's Lady Jacks last week, but the boys were able to take their game against Warren 58-51.

The Hamburg Lions basketball team beat Warren for the second time this season last week in Hamburg.

Hamburg held a small lead all night and finished with a 58-51 final score.

Jalen Wilson hit four of his five three-point attempts, grabbed 12 defensive rebounds and scored 23 total points for the Lions. Herman Brown scored 11 points for the Lions and Nicholas Bridges scored 10.

The Lions are now 11-12 for the season and 3-5 in the conference.

The Lady Lions also faced Warren last week, but fell to the Lady Jacks 63-36. The Lady Lions are now 2-20 for the season.

Both Lion teams traveled to Monticello on Tuesday night, but results were not available at press time.

The Lions will host the Crossett Eagles on Friday night for a rivalry rematch. Both the Eagles and the Lady Eagles won the games in Crossett played last month earning two points for Crossett in the James D. Rankin competition. The Lions will have an opportunity to add two points to their side of the scoreboard Friday night.
