Lions end season in Stuttgart

The Hamburg Lions ended their season in Stuttgart on Friday night. The Lions faced the Stuttgart Ricebirds in Round 2 of the playoffs on Friday night after beating Jonesboro Westside 76-47 at home the week before.

In Stuttgart on Friday,  Hamburg scored first and led the first quarter 7-6, but by the half Stuttgart had taken the lead 23-14. 

Stuttgart put up another 14 points in the third quarter, making the score 37-14. 

Hamburg was able to score one more time in the fourth, but ultimately the Ricebirds won 51-21. Offensive player of the game was awarded to quarterback Brett Rice and Gavin Harrod was recognized for defensive player. 

The player chosen on special teams was Landon Carter and Brent Holland was chosen as scout player. Dalton Gill was named lineman of the week and  Drake Rice earned the scholar athlete title for the week.

The Lions finished their season with a 4-7 record and a 2-2 conference record.
