The Crossett Lady Eagles remain undefeated after two away games last week.
On Tuesday the Lady Eagles beat Monticello 10-3.
Jenna Cate Roberts started Crossett off with a ground ball to center field and was batted in when Lainey Taunton hit a line drive double to left field.
Three outs later, Taunton was left stranded on base and the Lady Eagles took the field up 1-0.
A Monticello batter who reached base on error was knocked in by a hit to left field to tie the score.
Jayden Thurmon caught an out on shortstop. Mary Kate Armstrong struck the next batter out and Taunton caught an out on second to bring the Lady Eagles in to start the second inning.
Allie Thurmon led with a double followed by a single by Lana Carter. Abby Senn knocked Allie in and moved Carter around to third base.
Roberts knocked Carter and Senn in to give the Lady Eagles four, but was left stranded on third base.
In the bottom of the second the Lady Eagles didn’t give up any runs, and came into bat.
In the top of the third, the Billies got three up, three down, sending the Eagles right back to the field.
The Lady Billies got one on base and she stole her way around to make the score 4-2. Another runner got on base, but the Lady Eagle defense kept her from crossing the plate and came in to start the fourth inning.
In the top of the fourth, with two outs on the board Roberts hit a pop fly and reached base on error. Taunton hit a line drive double to knock her in and the score was 5-2.
Jayden and Addison Christy walked on and Armstrong hit a pop fly that sent them home to make the score 7-2. Christy and Armstrong were both left stranded on base and the Lady Eagles took the field leading by five.
Jayden Thurmon caught a line drive on short and Abby Senn threw a batter out from third base. Armstrong struck the next batter out and the Lady Eagles came in to start the fifth.
Carter got on with a double and was moved around with a bunt by Anna Harris before being knocked in with a double by Senn. Roberts hit a hard ground ball to left to bring Senn in. Taunton grounded out, but moved Senn from second to third and Jayden Thurmon knocked Roberts in for the final Lady Eagle run of the game.
Jayden was left stranded on the base, but the Lady Eagles took the field leading by eight.
In the bottom of the fifth, the first batter hit a single to center field. Jayden threw the next two batters out, but the lead off was still able to make it around to home plate. Jayden threw the next batter out at first and the Lady Eagles came into start the sixth.
They couldn’t get their bats going and took the field to finish the inning with the score 10-3.
They got three up three down in the bottom of the sixth and came in to start the seventh still leading by seven.
In the top of the seventh, Senn and Taunton both got on base, but were both left stranded send the Lady Eagles back out to the field.
They got a quick three up, three down to secure their win and celebrated their fifth consecutive win.
On Thursday they traveled to Magnolia to claim another win against the Lady Panthers.
The got three across the plate in the top of the first, taking the field leading 3-0.
Roberts caught the first Panther batter out in center and Taunton grabbed an out on second.
The next batter hit a double that would set the Panthers up to score. When Jayden Thurmon caught the third out, the score was 3-1 with the Lady Eagles still up.
Neither team scored again until the top of the fifth when Taunton hit a double and Jayden followed with a triple to bring her in. Christy hit a sacrifice fly to right field to bring Jayden in and the score was 5-1.
The Lady Eagles took the field and even though the Lady Panthers loaded the bases with only one out on the board, the Lady Eagle defense kept them from the plate. Jayden Thurmon caught a line drive on short to bring them in to start the sixth.
The first two Lady Eagle batters, Carter and Harris, walked on and Senn knocked Carter in to make the score 6-1. Roberts doubled to bring Harris in and Jayden Thurmon knocked both Senn and Roberts in with a line drive to center.
Armstrong hit a single to bring Jayden home and Carter brought Armstrong in to make the score 12-1.
In the bottom of the sixth, the first batter reached base on error and the next two batters walked on.
The next batter hit a single that brought in two runs and the score moved to 12-3.
Jayden Thurmon caught an out on short, but the Panthers brought three more runs in before the Lady Eagles could get a second out. Roberts caught an out in center and Allie Thurmon caught an out in left to bring the Lady Eagles in to start the seventh.
Taunton and Jayden Thurmon both walked on, but were left stranded on base, leaving the score stuck at 12-6.
In the bottom of the seventh, Roberts caught the first out in center, but the next batter made it to first base. Senn threw the runner out at second and Thurmon grabbed the next out on short to end the game.
The Lady Eagles celebrated their sixth and possibly their last victory of the season as it is still undecided if the Lady Eagles will play after Spring break.
