The Crosett Eagles girls’ basketball team beat Parkers Chapel 48-44 at home on Friday night. Jada Cooks led all scorers with 22 points. CeCe Gillium put up 16 and Anaya Jones scored eight.
Coach Shanae Govan said after Fridays game that she was proud to see them get the win, especially after losing in such a close match on the road in Parkers Chapel the last week of November.
“I’m so proud of the win, but we still have more to prove,” Govan said.
The Lady Eagles played the Lady Rams in Dermott on Monday night and lost by three points.
“It was a tough loss against a really good, well-coached Dermott team,” Govan said. “We have made a lot of improvements, but we just have to keep working and keep rising.”
Stats for Monday’s game were not available at press time. The Lady Eagles are currently 3-2 overall and will not play their first conference game until January. The Lady Eagles will host the McGehee Owls on Friday night in the Crossett arena.
