The Crossett junior high track teams won the 4A-8 district track meet last week.

The girls team placed in three relays and placed first in multiple other events.

The boys team won all three relay events and won first place in all but three of the individual events, in which they still placed in the top five.

In the 4 by 100-meter relay, the Crossett girls came in first place with runners Kali Terrell, Shenia Gavin, CeCe Gillum and Harmony Green. In the 4 by 400-meter relay the Crossett girls placed second behind Warren with runners Allie Thurmon, Terrell, Jada Thorton and Gavin.

Green won the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.66 and the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.26. Gillum placed right behind her in both events with a time of 14.00 in the 100-meter race and a 28.59 in the 200-meter race.

Lily Vargas won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:53:74 and placed third in the 1600-meter run.

Aaliyah Dodd won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.80 and Stephey Claire Moon placed second with a time of 18.93. Moon won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 56.57 and Dodd placed second with a time of 57.73.

In the jump events, Gillum won the long jump with a 14-5 jump and Green won the triple jump with a 29-2. Gavin placed second in the triple jump 28-8.

Thorton won the pole vault event with a jump of 8-0. Charmone Scott placed first in the shot put event with a 29-0 and fourth in the discus event with a 63-3.

Other top five awards for the girls include Terrell who placed fourth in the 400-meter dash and in the pole vault event, Akassia Gist who placed fourth in the 800-meter run, Vargas who placed third in the 1600-meter run and Thurmon who placed fifth in the triple jump.

The girls finished with 190 points with Monticello coming in second with 151 points and Star City in third with 124 points. Warren came in fourth, Jack Robey placed fifth and Hamburg placed sixth.

The boys team won the 4 by 800-meter relay with runners Kameron Williams, Colton Williams, William Nason and Romie Roxie. In the 4 by 100-meter relay the boys placed first with runners Dewayne Ashford, Devon Montgomery, Denzel Watkins and Jackson Moore and placed first in the 4 by 400-meter relay with runners Kameron Williams, TayShawn Paskel, Watkins and Frederick Barnett.

Ashford won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.94 and the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.24. Watkins placed behind Ashford in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.94. Kameron Williams won the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.70 with teammate Tyrique Jones coming in third place with a 58.40.

Colton Williams placed first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:28:24 and third in the 1600-meter run.

Moore won the 110- meter hurdles with a time of 17.73 and the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 44.29. Khamal Williams placed behind him in second, Frederick Barnett in third and Will Shaver in fourth, giving Crossett the top four places in the 300-meter hurdle event.

In the jump events, Ashford won the high jump with a 6-4, the long jump with a 19-3.5 and the triple jump with a 41-5. Moore placed behind him in second in the high jump with a 5-8 and Jones placed second in the triple jump with a 18-0 and third in the long jump.

Jayden Thurman won the shot put event with a 48-10 and placed fourth in the discus events.

Other top five events for the boys include Watkins who placed fourth in the 100-meter dash, Roemon Christan who placed fourth in the 800-meter run, Barnett who placed fifth in the 110-meter hurdles, Jones who placed fourth in the high jump and Moore who placed third in the triple jump and fourth in the pole vault event.

The boys team had a total of 255 points, putting them in first place overall with Monticello coming in second with 133 points. Jack Robey placed third, Star City placed fourth and Warren came in last.
