The Hamburg High School boys soccer team finished first in the 4A East Conference and advanced to the state tournament.

Under the coaching leadership of Miguel Mondragon, the boys finished the season 10-2 overall and were 8-0 in the conference.

The Lions have been named conference champions for four consecutive years and have not lost a conference game since 2015, when they came in second in the conference behind Lisa Academy.

The Lions’ last regular season game for the 2019 season was earlier this month when the boys beat Monticello 8-2, wrapping up another undefeated season.

Last week, the Lions went on to the state championship in Batesville and lost in round one of the playoffs.

The Lions played Mena on Thursday and lost 2-1 to end their season.

The Lady Lions soccer team ended their season with an overtime win against Monticello, finishing 4-4 in the conference and 5-7-2 overall.

The girls were fifth in the conference behind Warren, Stuttgart, ESTEM and Star City, but finished ahead of Monticello, Mills University Studies, Little Rock McClellan and Crossett.
