The Crossett track team won multiple events in Magnolia in last week’s Panther Relay.

The Crossett girls relay team won second place in the 4 by 400-meter relay with runners Anaya Jones, Charity Watkins, Jaylynn Hampton and Shekirra Gavin.

Anaya Jones won the 300-meter hurdles with a 48.60 and Jaylynn Hampton and Charity Watkins tied for first place in the pole vaulting event.

The boys relay team won the 4 by 800-meter relay with runners Desmond Harris, Tyreke Caldwell, Jeremy Green and Devon Shaver.

Desmond Harris won the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:04.87 and DeAndre Webb won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.31.

Other top five awards for the girls include Charity Watkins, who placed third in the 400-meter dash; Jaylynn Hampton, who placed second in the 800-meter run; and Jones, who placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles. Jaylynn Hampton and Jones also placed top three in the high jump events, and the girls relay team placed second in the 4 by 400-meter relay.

The boys placed third in the 4 by 400-meter relay, and Jeremy Green and Harris both placed top five in the 800-meter run. James Hampton placed third in the high jump events.

The junior high track teams also brought home awards.

The ninth grade girls won the 4 by 400-meter relay with runners Jada Thornton, Allie Thurmon, Kali Terrell and Shenia Gavin.

The ninth grade girls team placed second in the 4 by 800-meter relay with runners Aaliya Dodd, Akassia Gist, Lilly Vargas and Trinity Keith.

Jada Thornton won the pole vault event with a 7-6.

The ninth grade boys placed top three in three different relay events, and Kameron Williams won the 400-meter dash with a 55.14.

In the relay events, Jackson Moore, Denzel Watkins, Devon Montgomery and Tayshawn Paskel ran the 4 by 100-meter and took second place behind El Dorado. Tyrique Jones, Watkins, Paskel and Kameron Willimas ran the 4 by 400 and placed second behind Nashvillle Junior High.

Tyrique Jones won the high jump and placed second in the triple jump. Jackson Moore won the long jump.

The seventh and eighth grade track teams ran the Cub Relays and likewise brought home multiple awards.

The girls relay team won first place in the 4 by 400-meter relay with runners Allie Thurmon, Stephey Claire Moon, Kali Terrell and Shenia Gavin and second place in the 4 by 100-meter relay with runners Shenia Gavin, CeCe Gillum, Dodd and Terrell.

CeCe Gillum won the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.56 and the 200-meter dash with a 28.91. Shenia Gavin won the triple jump and Terrell won the pole vault event.

The boys placed third in both of their relay events and didn’t win any individual events, but Paskel placed in the top three in the 100-meter dash, the 200-meter dash, the long jump and the triple jump.

The Eagle track teams ran in the Owl Relays in McGehee Tuesday, but results were not available at press time.

The Eagles will run again on Thursday in Nashille at the Scrapper Relays.

The Eagles will run in Camden the week of April the 8. Crossett will host the 4A Division 8 District track meet on April 16 at Yarborough Field.

The Crossett Eagles are the defending District and State Champions in 4A track.
