The Crossett High School Eagles beat Monticello during a home game on Friday night.
The game started out as a close one. Mid-first quarter, Monticello led 11-9, but Jackson Moore shot for the Eagles, tying the score.
The Eagles stayed ahead the rest of the night. Monticello got within two points —19-17 — but Jartaveous Brown shot a three-pointer to give the Eagles 22. Moore shot again to make it 24-17 and the Eagles kept it up all night.
In the third quarter the Billies started closing the gap again, but Jack Rice shot a three-pointer to make it 38-39 and Derrick Luckey shot again to give the Eagles a comfortable 10-point point lead. The Eagles ended the third quarter up 49-36 and ended the game up 60-53.
The Eagles hosted Watson Chapel on Tuesday night, but results were not available at press time.
The Eagles will not play at home again until next Tuesday night when they host the Warren Lumberjacks and celebrate senior night.
