The Crossett Eagles will have their annual Maroon and White game on Friday night even though there is currently no electricity hooked to the field.

Yarborough Field is getting an upgrade in the form of new lighting and the project will not be finished in time for the Eagles to face each other under the Friday night lights

The maroon and white scrimmage will kick off at 4:30 p.m., but Coach Sonny Nason said they won’t be able to do all of the usual festivities that go with it.

“We don’t have power, we won’t have sound, we are pretty much treating it like a practice,” Nason said.

Nason said the cheerleaders are planning to come out and perform, but he was unsure what they were going to do about the power issue.

The new lights are expected to be finished by the first home game on Sept. 13.

The Eagles will travel to Bastrop on Aug. 30 for a benefit scrimmage. For more Eagle football information, see next week’s edition for the Gridiron special section.
