The Crossett Eagle track teams hosted and won the Crossett Eagle Relays meet last week.
The CHS boys won first place out of 11 track teams and scored 204 total points. Lakeside High School of Lake Village place second with a total of 101 points.
The Eagles won first place in the high jump, the 4 by 800-meter relay, the 4 by 100-meter relay, the 1,600-meter run, the 800-meter run, the 4 by 400-meter relay and the 3,200-meter run. Crossett also took the top places in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash along with multiple other top five awards.
The Crossett boys placed first in all of the relay events. Carlos Williams, Kantrell Williams, Willie Taylor and DeAndre Webb all ran for the Eagles in the 4 by 100-meter relay and finished with a time of 44.06.
Tyrek Caldwell, Jeremy Green, Treyveon Chatman and Kantrell Williams ran for Crossett in the 4 by 400-meter relay and finished with a time of 3:44:39.
Caldwell, Green, Desmond Harris and Jordan Rial ran for the Eagles in the 4 by 800-meter relay and finished with a time of 9:22:30.
Webb won the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.99 and the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.15. Taylor came in second place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.41. Carlos Williams finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.10 with teammate Kantrell Williams behind him in third with a 11.21. Carlos Williams placed third behind Webb and Taylor in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.86.
Harris placed first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:13:48 and first in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:10:10. Green placed second in the 800-meter run with a 2:15:32 and Rial placed fifth in the 800-meter run with a 2:26:33 and third in the 1600-meter run with a 5:33:40.
In the 400-meter dash, Caldwell placed second with a 55.70 and his teammate Devon Shaver came in behind him in third with a 56.16.
In the hurdle events, CHS didn’t take the No. 1 spots, but had runners finish in the top three. In the 110-meter hurdles, Carlos Williams finished third with a 16.28 and in the 300-meter hurdles, Jabari Holmes finished second with a 45.48 and Chatman finished third with a 45.73.
CHS athlete James Hampton won the high jump with a 6-foot, 5-inch jump and Kantrell Williams placed second in the triple jump with a 39-9.
Other top five awards include, Carlos Williams placing third in the long jump and fourth in the triple jump, Kantrell Williams placing fifth in the long jump and Lamonte Gillum placing fourth in the shot put event.
The Hamburg Lions also competed at the track meet and Lion runner, Bryant Gonzalez placed second behind Crossett’s Harris in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:33:19.
Gonzalez also placed fourth out of eight in the 800-meter run and ninth out of 23 in the 400-meter run.
The Hamburg boys finished third out of four teams in the 4 by 400-meter relay and finished fifth in the overall meet.
Both Ashley County teams will run in Magnolia in the Panther Relays on March 28.
