The Crossett Riding Club gave away more than $70,000 in prize money to cowboys and cowgirls from all over the country during the 71st Annual Crossett PRCA Rodeo last week.
In the bull riding event, JT Moore of Alvin, Texas took home $2,526.18 for first place overall with a score of 90.5. Garrett Tribble of Slick, Okla. won $2,000 for second place with a score 87. Tyler Bingham of Utah placed fourth and won a total of $1,431,50 and Trevor Kastner of Oklahoma won almost one thousand dollars for fifth. Lon Danley from New Mexico won just over $400 for placing sixth.
Nearly $6,000 was given away in the saddle bronc riding competition. The first and second place winners were both cowboys from Okla. Joe Lufkin won first place and $1892.22 with a score of 85 and Roper Kiesner placed second and took home $1,433.50 with a score of 81. Ryder Sanford and Dean Wadsworth, both from Texas, placed third and fourth. Sadler won a little more than $1,000 and Wadsworth won $688.08. Parker Kempfer of Florida tied with Koby Williams of Texas for fifth place, each taking home $344.04.
Money was awarded to the first 12 barrel runners for a total of $10,274.20 in prize money. The fastest barrel racer was Jennifer Sharp of Texas with a time of 16.72 seconds. Sharp won a little more than $2,000 for first prize. Leia Pluemer of New Mexico came in just behind her with a 16.74. Chani Graves placed third with a 16.91 and Andrea Busby in fourth with a 16.92. Both Graves and Busby are from Texas and each won approximately $1,200.
The team ropers pocketed a combined total of $20,000 with the first place team winning more than $3,000 combined. Zach Kilguis of Florida and Jake Edwards of New York won first place with a 12.7/2 and each received $1,659.77. Justin Yost of Pennsylvania and Brit Bockius of Florida came in second place and each pocketed $1,244.82. Kaston Peavy of Alabama and Chase Graves of Louisiana placed third and Bradley Massey and Clint Summers of Fla. placed fifth.
Will Lummus of Mississippi placed first in the steer wrestling event for a total prize of $1,612.03 and Tanner Brunner came in behind him in second place winning $1,334.26. Money was awarded to the top six cowboys for a total of $12,972.
Nearly $10,000 was awarding in the tie-down roping event with the top four cowboys taking home cash.
Cody McCartney of Michigan won first place with an aggregate of 19.0/2 and took home $1,643.65. Ike Fontenot of Louisiana came in second for a total of $1,232.74.
Jesse Pope won the bareback riding event with a score of 84 taking home $1,761.93, Jake Brown of Texas placed second with an 82.5 and Daylon Swearingen of Georgia placed third with an 82.0. The total prize money for bareback riding was $5,339.20
