Crossett High School has selected officers and representatives for the 2019- 2020 Student Council.

The officers are President Jayden Thurmon; Vice President Anna Claire Atchison; Secretary Courtney Barnett; Treasurer Rebekah Frisby; Historian Rachel Junior. Forty-three student representatives have also been chosen. The election was at the end of the 2018-2019 school year.

“Student council means giving students an opportunity to develop leadership skills in school and throughout the community,” student council sponsor April Adams said.

The council also gives students another opportunity at having a voice, Adams said.

“Some of the goals for this year include making sure the homecoming assembly and dance run smoothly, while we also are in charge of other dances such as Sadie Hawkins and prom,” Thurmon said.

The student council is meant to function as the voice for the student body. “We try to do what’s best for the student body in all our decisions, whether it is what’s best for a date of a dance, or the theme,” Thurmon said.
