Officer Robert Black And Wanda Harris, both with Crossett High School, partnered with the American Legion in Crossett to host a flag raising ceremony and learning session. Black said he wanted to do something to bring the community together and honor the flag. “I don’t agree with everything going on in our country, but I am proud of our flag and I wanted to do something to teach the students,” Black said. When he originally planned this he wanted the entire school to come, but because of COVID-19 rules only one group could come. Members of the Future Farmers of America said they wanted to learn how to fold a flag so Black selected their group. They wore their uniforms and attended the flag ceremony. Steve Lochala and Steve Riva from the American Legion gave lessons about flag etiquette and how to fold a flag at the event. (AMBER SINKS/CHS Yearbook Staff)
