Hamburg High School’s FFA Chapter attended the annual Career and Technical

Education Conference at Barton Coliseum in Little Rock last week as part of the Arkansas State Fair.

The Arkansas State Fair and livestock show is an annual event sponsored by the Arkansas Livestock Show Association and hosted in Little Rock. The Arkansas State Fair features a midway carnival, music, concerts, a rodeo, commercial exhibits and displays, free shows from exotic animals as well as acrobats and magicians.

The students said they had a great time observing the commercial exhibits with the multiple livestock shows and competitions. The students were also allowed to view the various arts and crafts exhibits and a midway carnival.

During one exhibit, all students were allowed to ride a mechanical bull.

“That was the most fun,” senior Hunter Pamplin said. I loved riding the bull and it did not throw me like it did some other FFA members.”

ASF runs for 10 days in October. It traditionally opens on a Friday and runs through two weekends and ends on a Sunday night.
