Pedestrian killed in Crossett highway collision

A North Crossett man died Tuesday evening after he was struck by a vehicle on Fairview Road.

The incident happened at 6:21 p.m. Nov. 17 on Arkansas Highway 133-Fairview Road. 

The vehicle in the incident, a 2014 Hyundai Sonata, was traveling southbound on the inside lane of the highway when it struck Jashon Daniels, 28.

“(Daniels) was lying down on the inside southbound lane of State Highway 133,” the Arkansas State Police’s preliminary report on the incident said.

Daniels was transported to Ashley County Medical Center but was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the Sonata was not identified in the report.

The weather conditions were dry and clear, the report said.

Trooper Cpl. Donny Crow investigated the incident.
