Virginia Carter, 99, of Crossett died at Ashley County Medical Center on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020.  She was born in Hamburg, to Boyett and Kelmie Goodwin on Oct. 19, 1921.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Conrad Carter; her son, Robert Carter and her great granddaughter, Morgan Boxer.

She is survived by her son, Connie Carter and spouse Wanda, of Salem, N.J., and her daughter, Carol Barton and spouse Danny of Crossett; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and a number of friends and relatives.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Nov. 17 at Jones Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Griffith officiating.   

 Interment followed in Carter Cemetery.  

Pallbearers were Andy Barton, Jeff Barton, Trey Robbins, Adam Bishop, Lewis Carter and Mike Carter.  

Honorary pallbearers were Charles Burt, Benjie Carter, Phil Carter, Dennis Goodwin, Jimmy Goodwin and David Goodwin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carter Cemetery  C/O Lewis Carter, 207 N. Briggs St., Oak Grove, LA  71263.
