James Earl “Sonny” Martin, age 80, of Crossett died Sunday, February 3, 2019 at St. Vincent in Little Rock, AR. He was born June 22, 1938 in Hamburg, AR to the late James Hayward “Woody” Martin and Dorothy Louise (Callaway) Martin.

Mr. Martin is a member of Tall Timber Hunting Club in Union County and was Baptist. He served in the United States Navy before becoming self-employed as a Mechanical Contractor.

He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Joe Martin, Freddie Martin, and Jimmy Martin.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of 62 years; Mary Charlene (Barton) Martin of Crossett, AR; three sons, Keith Martin and his wife, Sherri, of Crossett, AR, Jamie Martin and his wife, Monica of West Fork, AR, Terry Martin and his wife, Valerie of Crossett, AR; One daughter, Kayla Sims of Crossett, AR; Two brothers, Bobby Martin and Randy Martin both of Hamburg, AR; Three Sisters, Dorothy Jean Savage, Gladys Gulledge, and Judy Bates all of Hamburg, AR; Twelve grandchildren and Twelve Great-Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00pm Thursday, February 7, 2019, at North Crossett First Baptist Church in Crossett. Funeral service will be 2:00pm Friday, February 8, 2019, at North Crossett First Baptist Church with Brother Robbin Allen and Brother Kenneth Neal officiating.
