Garrett Milam, 25, of Shreveport, La., formerly of Hamburg, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020 in Shreveport, after a battle with a rare form of lung cancer.  Garrett graduated from Calvary Baptist High School in Shreveport in 2012. Garrett taught at Hermitage High School and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hamburg.

The Fluker family would like to express heartfelt gratitude for his doctors, Dr. Lash & Dr. Wang, of Willis-Knighton Cancer Center and the staff of the Carpenter House for their compassion in caring for Garrett. 

 He is survived by his wife, Emily Fluker Milam; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ron and Angel Fluker, all of Shreveport.

 Graveside services were 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020, in the Hamburg Cemetery with the Rev. Ty Danielson officiating. 

Honorary pallbearers were Jim Barnes, Steve Harriman, Turner Roberts, Rick Sanders, Landen Stovall and Doug Webb.  

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Garrett’s name to the First Baptist Church, PO Box 352, Hamburg, AR 71646, or to Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home, Inc., PO Box 28, Hamburg, AR 71646. 

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg.
