Deborah Charlene Edwards, 65, of Monticello, died Monday, July 12, 2021 at her residence.  Mrs. Edwards attended Alton High School, and in her earlier years, she worked as a caregiver.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, William P. and  Nina Elle Olbrieht Edwards; a sister, Joyce Edwards and two nieces, Dana Carver and Stephanie Slaughter.

She is survived by a son, Jason Slaughter of Monroe, La.; four daughters, Danielle Durham and husband, Donald, of Dermott, Jackie McMahon and husband, Will, of Montana, Jennifer Johnson and Nickie Jo Johnson, both of Missouri; three sisters, her twin Donna West and husband, Mike, of Wilmar, Christine James of Kingsville, Mo., and Lois Carter of Shreveport, La.; three brothers, Buzz Edwards of Fountain Hill, Ray Edwards and wife, Linda, of Elkins and Ronald Edwards of Kansas City, Mo.; seven grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
