The pilot who was killed in a July 26 agriculture aviation accident near Portland has been identified as Russell Anthony “Rusty” Johnson.

In addition to the fatality, another pilot — Robby Lassiter — was seriously injured in the incident, the result of two farm crop dusting airplanes colliding over a cotton field.

Lassiter was transported from the field by helicopter to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences following the collision, and has undergone surgery. He remained in the Intensive Care Unit on Monday, Aug. 1.
