Two-vehicle collision outside Crossett

A two-vehicle collision outside Crossett resulted in one driver being airlifted and the other transported to El Dorado by ambulance. Ashley County Sheriff Tommy Sturgeon said the wreck happened at approximately 9:30 a.m. Tuesday on Hancock Road. First responders said the wreck was a head-on collision between a Jeep Liberty and a four door car. The drivers involved were reportedly Susan Burchfield and Holly Blankenship. Sturgeon said that Burchfield was airlifted to Pine Bluff and Blankenship was transported by ambulance to El Dorado, but he had not been updated on their conditions at press time. Sturgeon said because the wreck was still under investigation he could not confirm what caused the collision or if anyone was at fault.
