The Crossett School District board voted Monday to renew Superintendent of Schools Gary Williams’s contract.
The board spent approximately half an hour in executive session Monday before returning to announce that William’s contract would be renewed for one more year under the terms and conditions of his previous contract.
The board also approved facility requests for two local organizations.
One of the requests was the use of the high school gym for the Crossett Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet on Jan. 23.
Board member Eddie Goodson said he didn’t have a problem with it as long as a proper fee was set to compensate for the cost of putting carpet squares down.
No exact fee was announced at the meeting, but the board instructed Williams to set a fee.
The other request approved was for the use of the football field.
Hope at Home — a cancer awareness and fundraising organization based in Ashley County —will host its annual festival in May at Yarbrough Field.
In other news, the board accepted the licensed resignation of Elementary teacher Renee Rial and hired two licensed employees for Crossett Learning Center Linda Jackson and Paige Grissom.
The board also accepted the classified resignation of Joyce Collier the Crossett Middle School cafeteria manager.
