The Crossett School Board agreed to host a hearing later this month in regard to long-time member Robert Cornelius.
Superintendent Gary Williams reported to the board that he had been notified that Cornelius did not complete some tasks required to be a school board member.
Williams went over the procedure of the school board members when something like this occurs. Williams explained to the board that they needed to vote on whether or not to hire an investigator to look into the issue to see if there are extenuating circumstances preventing Cornelius from receiving his required training hours and completing the required tasks.
All of the board members present agreed that no investigation was needed.
Once that was determined, Williams told them the next step was to have a hearing where Cornelius would be required to come and present his reasoning to the board. Williams said that there are certain legal requirements the school board has to fill. Williams also said they were required to give him a certain amount of notice before the hearing could be held.
Ultimately a hearing was set for March 29.
