COVID-19 positives, March 19

The Arkansas Department of Health generated a map showing the number of confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 the state as of 2:32 p.m. March 19.

Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced Thursday that the closure of Arkansas schools in response to the COVID-19 outbreak would be expanded until April 17. The case of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state grew from 33 to 62 from Wednesday to Thursday. As of 2:31 p.m. Thursday, the Arkansas Department of Health said Ashley County had no confirmed cases, through the ADH’s map of the outbreak shows Bradley County has between one and four.

The governor also said all restaurants and bars in the state would be closed to dining in in the short term, though carryout, drive through and delivery could continue. He likewise instructed all indoor venues to be closed to non-essential functions, and issued guidance that social gatherings be limited to 10 or fewer people.
