Several of the May and June events that were canceled or postponed earlier this year have been put back on the calendar as State of Arkansas loosens COVID-19 guidelines.

The Crossett Riding Club announced that its PRCA rodeo will be held later this month after postponing its original May date.

A riding club spokesman said the club would release details with their plans for social distancing and the changes they’ve had to make to accommodate those some time next week.

Cherub Alford, who organizes the rodeo pageant, said that it too will go on in conjunction with the Crossett Rodeo, but she is still working on details as well and some events may have to look a little different this year. The new rodeo dates are June 24 to 27 starting with the annual parade downtown on June 24.

The World Famous Armadillo Festival that the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce hosts the first weekend every May had to be postponed.

Hamburg Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Georganna Cossey said that the chamber is still working on all of the final details, but they have dates to release.

The new dates for the festival will be are Sept. 9 to 12.

A more specific schedule of events will be announced a later time.

The Crossett Chamber of Commerce moved the Buddy Bass Tournament that was previously scheduled for last weekend to Sept. 12. This is the second year in a row that the Chamber has had to move the tournament from their June date to September. Last year, flooding prevented them from hosting it in June.

The Hope at Home Festival put on by Crossett’s Hope at Home non-profit organization has not announced a new date for its festival, which was canceled in May.

The Southeast Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation postponed its March banquet. Originally the chapter announced they wanted to reschedule for mid-May, but then decided to push the date even further out.

The chapter recently announced it will have the banquet in August with exact details to be released at a later time.
