Ashley County law enforcement officials are still searching for answers in the case of a recent apparent murder in Fountain Hill.

Teddy Cayton, 32, of Fountain Hill was the victim of a suspected hit and run incident on Pine Street last week.

Lead investigator Josh Pollock said on Tuesday afternoon that investigators have not been able to identify suspects in the case at that point.

Late last week, an Ashley County deputy said off the record that people had been taken in for questioning in relation to the case, but that no formal arrests had been made.

Pollock declined to release any information the sheriff’s office has been able to collect at this point, saying that doing so might negatively impact the investigation.

“Right now I’m waiting on an autopsy,” Pollock said. “If anyone knows any thing or has any information we urge them to give us a call.”

The Ashley County Sheriff’s Office can be reached at 870-853-2040.
