Moffatt family honored during Ashley County's annual Veterans Day celebration

The Moffatt family was honored during Ashley County’s annual Veterans’ Day celebration. County Judge Jim Hudson said that many men in the Moffatt family have served in the armed services, and presented certificates to each one or their families. Members of the family who have served and since died included Donald Wayne Moffatt, Charles Issac “Sonny” Moffatt and Claude Moffatt, who each served in the U.S. Navy; Elmer Wade “Junior” Moffatt and Carl Columbus Moffatt, who served in the U.S. Army; and Edward H. Moffatt, who served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Living Moffatt family veterans included Carl Wayne Moffatt, who served in the Navy; Presley Harbison Moffatt, who served in the Army; James “Jim” Moffatt, who served in the Army National Guard, and Brent Moffatt, who served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
