A man from the Berlin community was killed in a four-wheeler incident last week.
Joseph Pollock, 32, died after falling from an all-terrain vehicle in the Berlin area.
A news release from the ACSO said that on Sept. 5 deputies were dispatched to Ashley 25 in reference to a four-wheeler wreck where a person was reported to have fallen off of an ATV.
Ashley County Sheriff Tommy Sturgeon said that witnesses reported to the responding officers that Pollock was riding on a four-wheeler with two other people when the incident occurred.
Pollock reportedly leaned down to shift change the four-wheeler when he flipped off of the vehicle onto the ground. Officials declined to identify the driver of the four-wheeler or the other passenger.
The release said that Pollock was pronounced dead at the scene. No other information was released at press time.
Pollock’s obituary from Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home said he was a native of Bastrop but a lifelong resident of the Berlin Community.
He was a truck driver. Survivors include his children, Judy and Gavin Pollock of Pine Bluff; his parents, Ricky and Dowana Abernathy Pollock; a brother, Josh Pollock and wife, Stacy, all of Hamburg and a number of nieces and nephews.
