The Crossett School Board approved the purchase of 315 Dell Chromebooks.
The purchase will be for the 2020-2021 budget year for student use.
The quote the board approved includes the devices, management license and software programs and packages.
The devices are expected to be in and ready to use by the new school year.
The board also accepted a lawn care bid from Browder Lawn Service.
R&R Cleaning service won low bid in August, but recently withdrew from the contract. Superintendent Gary Williams said the lawn care bids were so recent they were able to pull from the August bids to make a selection. The board approved Browder Lawn Service’s bid of $1,650 per mowing for the new agreement.
During the meeting, the board voted to renew the teacher contracts for the Crossett teachers and administration staff.
The board agreed to rehire the current staff as recommended by each school building’s administrator.
The board also hired Kayley Caruth as a sixth grade literacy teacher, Toryn Cox as an eighth grade math teacher and Abigail Leonards as an elementary teacher.
The board accepted resignations for third grade teacher Millissa Pennington, bus driver Jenny Allen and Wendy Hinton in food service.
