A Crossett man died after a shooting in the early morning hours of Christmas Day.

Todd A. Martin, 33, was found dead at the scene of 407 Chicago St., where his vehicle had come to a stop after striking a house, at 1:48 a.m., a news release from the Arkansas State Police said.

Martin had parked across the street from the residence, where he was visiting relatives, earlier in the night, the release said.

After Martin left the relatives and re-entered the vehicle, an apparent shooting incident happened, ultimately leading to the crash.

ASP officials said Martin's body was transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the exact manner and cause of death and to recover evidence.

While the release noted that investigative interviews were ongoing, no arrests had been made at the time.
