The Crossett Police Department has made an arrest in connection with the Memorial Day weekend shooting.

Reports at the Crossett Police Department said that Brooks Minnieweather was the victim of the non-fatal shooting that happened May 25.

The suspect in the shooting, Timothy Toney was arrested and charged with first-degree battery May 28.

CPD Investigator Teresa Toliver said that officers were dispatched to the 800 block West 11th Ave., and when they arrived on the scene they found that Minnieweather had been shot. Minnieweather was transpoted to Ashley County Medical Center where he was treated and released.

The case is still under investigation and investigators have declined to release other details.
