Ellis Raynard “Ray” Danzy has been inducted into the Hall of Fame at the University of Central Oklahoma at Edmonds, Okla.

A 1997 graduate of Crossett High School, Danzy was a notable former all-around athlete during his high school years.  After graduating CHS, he furthered his education on scholarships and graduated from Garden City Junior College in Garden City, Kan. and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma.  While he was at UCO, he played collegiate Broncho Baseball under Coach Wendell Simmons.  He broke many of the university’s records during his tenure.  

Danzy received honors for his time at the university at a banquet at the Hilton Conference Center in Edmonds on Jan. 25.  He was inducted into the UOC Ring Of Honor Hall Of Fame All Decade Team 2000-2010.  

Danzy is currently employed by the Union School District in Tulsa, Okla., where he is assistant coach in the football and baseball program as well as a teacher of Physical Education.  

Raynard is the son of Ellis and Aretha Danzy of Crossett.
