Pedestrian, 77, dies after struck by vehicle

A Crossett man died Thursday night after he was struck by a vehicle on a highway near Crossett.

Max Huber, 77, was pronounced dead on the scene on Arkansas 133 North.

The collision happened at 8:08 p.m., according to the Arkansas State Police's preliminary fatal crash summary.

The driver of a 2017 Chevrolet was traveling southbound on the highway while Huber "was walking southbound in the traffic lane" when the vehicle struck him, the report said.

No other injuries resulted from the collision, and the report said the weather was clear and the roads were dry at the time.

The report did not identify the driver of the Chevrolet.
