A Portland woman has been arrested and is charged with killing her adult son in Faulkner County.

Jessie Mae Johnson,55, was booked into the Faulkner County Detention Center May 13 on charges of first-degree murder in connection with the incident, which happened in Conway.

The alleged stabbing reportedly occurred in the Appalachian Drive home of Christopher Helms, 38, during the early morning hours.

Witnesses reportedly told investigators that Johnson was upset with Helms, her son, after he used harsh language against her.

Johnson allegedly went into the residence’s kitchen and retrieved a knife, which she then used to stab the victim.
