The Crossett Eagles opened their baseball season in Nashville in the Ralph Gross tournament against Mayflower.
The Mayflower team jumped into the lead, scoring in the bottom on the first inning, but the Eagles came back in the top of the second to tie the score at 1-1.
In the third inning, Mayflower again took the lead by a run, though the Eagles fought back and scored another run in the fifth to tie the game 2-2.
The game swung in Mayflower’s favor in the sixth inning when they were able to score four runs.
The final score was Mayflower 6, Crossett 2.
Gage Terrell and Trent Pullins were able to bring in the runs for the Eagles, while Holt Price had a hit and Seth Woods had two, including an RBI.
In the second game of the series, the Eagles faced off against Horatio.
Both teams were able to bring a batter home in the first inning, but Gregory Junior’s run was the last time Crossett would score.
