The CHS cheer squad, under the coaching leadership of Wanda Henderson and Judy McCay, attended cheer camp last week in Hot Springs and brought home multiple squad and individual awards.

The squad won the Sharp for Sophie award, the Top Gun Dance award, Top Team Chant award, the spirit stick and won third place in the Jam Routine competition.

The team was invited to the National Cheerleading Association Nationals competition and all 12 members were nominated to try out for All-American.

“We are proud of our girls the whole squad was nominated to try out for All-American,” McCay said.

CHS squad members Daley Chavis, Hannah McFarland and Jada Cooks were all named All-American after Sunday’s tryouts.
