After losing to Junction City on the road last week, the Lady Eagles got a big win over the Hamburg Lady Lions Monday night.

The Lady Eagles fought hard against the Dragons, but ended up with a one point loss.

In the first inning Jenna Cate Roberts and Hallie Cameron both grounded out before Kaylie Pullin hit a stand up double. Pullin was picked off of second base to end the inning.

The Lady Eagles hit the field and after a double to left field, Cameron got the first out by scooping up a grounder and throwing it to first baseman, Blair Barnett.

Another double knocked a Lady Dragon in for the first point of the game.
Mary Kate Armstrong struck the next batter out, but Junction City scored again before the Lady Eagles could make a third out.

The Lady Eagles were trailing 2 - 0, but Thurmon opened the second inning with a home run to center field.

A walk put a Lady Eagle on base and after a pop up out, Barnett moved her to second with a single.

Another strike out put the Lady Eagles in a two out situation with two runners on base.

Brooke Courson knocked Lexie Cameron in with a line drive to shortstop and moved Barnett on to second base.

The catcher caught a foul pop up and the Lady Eagles hit the field to finish the second inning with 2 - 1 on the scoreboard.

Thurmon scooped up a ball at third and threw the first batter out at first. Lanie Taunton caught a fly ball in left field for the second out.
The Lady Dragons hit two line drive singles and the third batter was hit by a wild pitch moving them around.

The next batter hit a grandslam to left field knocking three batters in and making the score 6- 2. Armstrong struck the next batter out and the Lady Eagles came in to bat.

Cameron and Pullin both hit fly balls that were caught before Thurmon stepped up and hit a line drive triple to center field.

The next batter struck out leaving Thurmon stranded on base and bringing the Lady Eagles back to the field.

The first batter hit a hard single to center field, but the Lady Eagles shut the next three Lady Dragon batters down. Thurmon threw out two at first base and Courson threw it from behind the plate to Pullin to pick off the second base runner.

The Lady Eagles came into bat, but still weren’t able to get any runners across home.

Lexie Cameron grounded out for the first out. Barnett, Taunton and Courson all hit singles and were on base when Roberts popped up to center field for the second out. Hallie Cameron hit three foul before she struck out swinging for the third out.

The Lady Eagles held the Lady Dragons again. Thurmon got the first out when she grabbed a grounder at third and threw the batter out at first.
The next two batters hit singles and were on base when Taunton caught a ball in left field and turned a double play at third.

The Lady Eagles came in for the top of the fourth, but went three up three down. Pullin and Thurmon’s hits were caught in the air and Armstrong grounded out to second base.

Crossett didn’t give up, and the girls hit the field ready for defense. Armstrong struckout the first batter and Roberts caught a fly ball in center for the second out.
