Mr. Charlie Ray Price was born August 18, 1957 in Monroe, Louisiana. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his home in Crossett, Arkansas. Services celebrating his life was held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop with Bro. Kevin McDaniel and Bro. Don Fletcher officiating. Committal services with military honors and burial will followed at the Herringville Cemetery in the Monticello Community of East Carroll Parish.
The family received friends on Wednesday, February 28th, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop, Louisiana.
Mr. Price is preceded in death by his father, Ralph Melvin Price, his mother, Wilma Ann McLarrin Ball, step-father, Harry “Hubba” Ball, a brother, Ricky Price, and his mother-in-law, Geneva Wynn.
Charlie was a member of the Meridian Baptist Church near Crossett where he served many years as a Sunday school teacher. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a retired Staff Sergeant after 19 years of service in the United States Army. He also retired as a service manager with Dedicated Logistics Trucking Company in Crossett. Charlie was a true patriot who loved his country and was proud of his military service. He was also known as people person. Charlie never met a stranger. He was an honorable man, strong in his faith and his convictions. Charlie was proud of his family and his love for them was immeasurable, being with them brought him much joy. He was loved by all fortunate to know him.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sharon Price of Crossett, Arkansas; his five children, David Carroll Miller and wife Andrea of McComb, Mississippi, Daphne Nicole Wayment and wife Jennifer of Ogden, Utah, Olivia Dawn Gargano and husband Dave of Phoenix, Arizona, Mary Ellen George and husband Ben of Bastrop, Louisiana, and Charlie Ray Price, Jr. of Alabama. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren, Slade Miller, Austin Miller, Megan Miller, Hayden Wayment, Bryce Hawks, Ava Gargano, Christian Selby, Kaiden George, Madeline George, and Livie George; three great-grandchildren, Sadie Miller, Miya Miller, and Gabe Mejias; two brothers, Tommy Price of Pioneer, Louisiana and Ronnie Price and wife Kim of Salem, Illinois; a brother-in-law, Ricky Wynn and wife Marie of Bella Vista, Arkansas; and a host of extended family.
Serving as pallbearers were Austin Miller, Christian Selby, Bryce Hawks, Jimmy Woods, Will Cooper, and Jerry Eads.
