Baseball season is here and the Crossett Eagles already have one victory on the books.
The Eagles traveled to El Dorado Monday night to face the Parker’s Chapel Trojans.
Neither team scored in the first inning, but in the second, the Trojans took the lead 2-1.
In the top of the third, the Eagles scored three points, giving them a 4 - 2 lead over the Trojans. The Trojans tied with the Eagles in the third, and the game remained tied until the top of the fifth. At the top of the fifth, the Eagles drove the ball and scored five points, cushioning their lead 9 - 4, only a one point difference from the final score of 10 - 4.
Coach Dustin Wolcott said that senior Dakota Fitch was his starting pitcher, and he brought junior pitcher Cody Kelley in to close the game out.
“Dakota kept us in a position to win,” Wolcott said.
