Students from the Crossett and Hamburg School Districts are headed for state-level archery competition.
The Hamburg School District hosted the Arkansas National Archery in Schools Program archery tournament for Region 11 Saturday as one of 12 Arkansas schools hosting regional tournaments over the weekend. The top three teams from three different age divisions at each tournament qualified for the ANASP state championship in Hot Springs March 2 and 3.
In Hamburg, ten schools attended the tournament to compete in the elementary, middle school, and high school categories.
Hamburg High School student Dylan Bradford and Crossett Middle School student J. Knightom had the highest individual scores of the event, with each scoring 286 points.
Seven schools competed for the high school state slots. Hamburg secured the first slot with a first place score of 2,987. Crossett won second place and qualified for state with a score of 2,906.
