It’s almost time for the 2017 Christmas in Crossett events, and this year the Crossett Area Chamber of Commerce is looking to add even more holiday joy with new events.

Christmas in Crossett will kick off Saturday with the First Miss Christmas in Crossett Pageant. The pageant will began at 10 a.m. at the Crossett Auditorium. The pageant will be divided into eight divisions — baby, toddler, tiny, sassy, little, pre-teen, Teen and Miss.

The winners will ride in the Christmas Parade Dec. 8.

The parade will began at 6 p.m., and will be followed by the 2017 Christmas in Crossett.

The annual event, located on the streets of downtown Crossett, features food and retail vendors, live entertainment, and other Christmas activities.

Chamber Board Vice President Lindsey Meeks said this year the Chamber has added a “Kids Fun Zone” to the event.

The new feature will be located in First National Bank parking lot from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 8. The Fun Zone will include an ice skating rink, winter slide, and a life-size snow globe. Fun Zone attractions are priced at $5 — $5 for 15 minutes of ice skating; $5 two slides down the winter slide; and $5 for picture in snow globe. A parent or guardian must be present with children younger than 18 to sign a liability form.

Santa Claus will also make an appearance in the parade and be available for pictures throughout the night. More information on pictures with Santa and other booth locations will be available next week at the Chamber.
