Nelda Hill Wells, 69, of Hamburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017 at her residence. Mrs. Wells lived in the Promise Land Community for most of her life. She worked at Farmer’s Bank for over 20 years and was a member of the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Carolyn Strickland Hill and two nephews, Shannon Hill and Billy Hill.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Thomas Wells of Hamburg; a daughter, Shelley Stewart and husband, Andy, of Collinston, La.; a son, Shane Wells and fiancé, Christie, of Hamburg; two brothers, Billy “Butch” Hill and wife, Phyllis, of Hamburg and James “Buddy” Hill and wife, Tammy, of Newport; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Nov. 3 at Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Josh Luellen and Trey Emory officiating.
Burial followed in the Promise Land Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dewey “Scutter” Kilcrease, Blaine Kilcrease, Willard Erwin, Steve Collins, Andrew Hartshorn and Jeff Foster.
