Steve Carpenter, 63, of Hamburg, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Carpenter was a native of Hamburg and a former resident of Pensacola, Fla., having moved back to Hamburg a year ago. He was a 1972 graduate of Hamburg High School, a retired paint salesman and owned his own painting company in Pensacola. He attended the Fellowship Baptist Church in Snyder.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maxine Pierce Carpenter, his father, William Van Carpenter and a sister, Sarah Elizabeth Carpenter.
Survivors include a son, Shane Carpenter and wife, Sativa, of Crossett; a brother, David Carpenter and wife, Belinda, of Monticello; a sister, Claire McCants and husband, Art, of Camden; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A private burial was conducted in the Hamburg Cemetery.
A memorial service will be at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg.
