The Crossett and Hamburg Golf teams matched off against each other last week.

Both teams participated in a golf tournament at the Monticello Country Club.

The Crossett boys’ team played against Hamburg, Monticello, Fordyce, McGehee and Dumas, and won overall with a score of 139.

Hamburg came in third place with Monticello coming in just ahead of them in second place.

Hamburg Golf Coach Matt Allison said he has a lot of new players, but he sees improvement each week.

“Almost all of them have improved their scores in each of our tournaments thus far and they improved again Tuesday,” Allison said.

The Crossett girls played against Monticello and Dumas, and won with an overall score of 169.

Coach Mary Ellen McMahen says she is very proud of her team’s performance and progress.

“The Monticello course is always tough, but the team was able to handle the fast greens well, “ she said.

The golf team played last night at Prairie Country Club, but information was not available at time of press.

The Hamburg golf team played Wednesday in Pine Bluff.
