The Crossett senior boys just missed being state runners-up at the State Track and Field Championships by three points.
Crossett’s Marcus Bornslater Jr. finished sixth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.33. He was closely followed by his teammage, Michael Thompson, who placed at seventh with a time of 11.44 seconds.
In the 200 meter dash, Randarius Terry finished sixth with a time of 23.65.
Bornslater also took the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.33.
He continued his placing streak by finishing eighth in the 300 meter hurdles.
The Eagles 4 by 100 Meter Relay team finished fourth with a time of 43.76 seconds.
In the 4 by 400 meter relay, the Crossett’s Marquan Bornslater, Deandre Webb, Tyreke Caldwell and Javonne Watson finished fifth, running a 3:38.14.
In the long jump, Marcus Bornslater again placed in the top eighth, finishing seventh with a jump of 19.5 feet.
Dre Lawson finished third overall in the shot put, throwing 49.2.5 feet.
“ We had a good effort but fell just short by three points to be in the trophy ceremony,” Coach Rodney Lawson said.
“I was really proud of the way we performed with heart, and courage, just as we have done all year. There is no give up in them. I am very proud of these young men.”
