Hamburg School District employees will be receiving more money for their work in the coming year.
Child Nutrition and Finance Director Tracy Streeter, who will take over as superintendent of schools after the end of the school year, and retiring Superintendent Max Dyson recommended personnel raises at the HSD’s school board meeting this month.
The recommendation approved by the board is to add $1,000 to the certified base personnel salary and 3.125 percent to the classified base salary.
“The reason it’s 3.125 percent is because that is equivalent to $1,000, which makes it an equal distribution,” Streeter said, adding that the increases will cost the district around $400,000.
Dyson explained that in the past when the district granted bonuses, the district attempted to make it fair across the board.
Following a brief discussion, board members approved the recommendation.
In other business, Streeter said the district is nearing the end of the year and has a lot of bill paying ahead. In addition, she said, the teachers are finalizing accounts.
It was noted that the district received a $2,600 grant to purchase two all purpose service carts for the middle and high school.
