The Crossett Police Department is seeking leads into the beating and robbery of a local plumber earlier this month.

A report filed at the CPD by Officer Carrie Wells said that approximately 12:45 p.m. Feb. 3, a black male of medium build wearing jeans and a blue shirt approached the victim in a convenience store on U.S. 82 in Crossett and asked him to go to an address in the 700 block of West 12th Avenue to check a water leak.

The victim told the police that upon arriving at the residence, he knocked and entered the building.

“Two black males were behind the front door wearing all black hoodies and face masks,” the report said. “Both (suspects) beat (the victim) down and drug (him) to a back room. One (suspect) held (the victim) and the other emptied (the victim’s) pockets.”

The report said the attack was done with closed fists and teh victim was “kicked with boots all in the head and neck area.”
